Project Background
A defence customer faced significant operational downtime due to obsolescence of Multi-Functional Display (MFD) units onboard an East European aircraft fleet. With OEM support discontinued, the client required a “fit, form & function” replacement without major redesign.
Key Challenge
Retrofitting a Western-origin MFD into an Eastern-origin aircraft platform required resolving mismatches in form factor, power characteristics, interface protocols, and certification requirements.
Solution & Execution
Avia Solution Advisors conducted a global scan of technically compatible systems and shortlisted a viable MFD through detailed form-factor and electrical interface analysis.
Custom modifications to wiring looms, connectors, and integration software were engineered.
Ground and flight trials were then conducted to validate full operational compatibility, safety, and display performance.
